Cadet’s Coterie

Customs

Apply for a Coterie Custom.

A custom is a commission. You choose the direction — the jacket type, the size, the base colour, where the C lands, the embroidery, the personal elements — and Nick finds the coat and transforms it into a one-of-one piece.

Customs run roughly $300 to $600+ depending on the coat and the amount of work. The value is not the thrifted jacket. It is the finding of the coat, the concept, the design, the customization, the labor, the one-of-one nature and the story.

What you choose

Jacket type
Chore coat
stadium jacket
varsity jacket
denim — or something else entirely.
Size
Told in your own measurements or the size you wear.
Base color
The palette of the found coat. We work with what the racks give us.
C placement
Chest
back
sleeve
or somewhere only you know about.
Embroidery
Chenille
embroidery
canvas appliqué
reflective or distressed.
Personal elements
Names
initials
years
numbers
patches — the marks that make it yours.
An embroidered patch of a buffalo on black canvas
Patches are how a piece becomes personal — an animal, a mark, a year.
A small embroidered cassette tape motif on brown fabric
Small motifs and lettering are worked into the design before a single stitch is sewn.

The application

Tell us the direction.

The more you tell us, the more the piece becomes yours. Nothing here is binding — it is the beginning of a conversation.

Applications are read personally. Not every application becomes a jacket — a custom is a commission, not a checkout.

If the direction is right, you will hear back. If it isn't yet, it may simply be a matter of the right coat turning up.

The Coterie is the people. The Coat is the artifact. The C is where it started.
